In Synch With VVSC!

Provincial Level Program

Variety Village Synchro is committed to providing a place for athletes of all abilities to find a place to participate. We have a “Little Mermaids/Mermen” program for pre-swimmer and younger children, a pre-competitive program for older children new to the sport, and a competitive program ranging from Provincial Level athletes to National Level Elite Programs, and a masters program for Parents who would like to try synchro. Within these programs training can range from 45 minutes once a week, all the way up to 5 days and 20 hours a week.

Competitive Synchro consists of a “Tier” system. The competitive program begins in Tier 1. Tier 1 athletes will be aged 11 years old and under. Presently the tier 1 team has 6 – 8 year olds on the team.

Tier 2 swimmers will typically be 12 years old and younger. The age range is wider for tier 3 – 5, and could span ages from 8 to 15.

Variety Village strives to have a well balanced program which can include strength and conditioning, water workouts, weights and exercise equipment, running the indoor track, gymnastics, dance, as well a full compliment of synchro water training.

Teams will prepare a routine to music which they will compete at 2 to 5 meets throughout the training season. This includes competing against athletes throughout the Province.

As well, Variety Village Synchro is host to 2 water-shows each season.

Try-outs for Team placement are in August.
