National Level Program
Variety Village Synchro is committed to providing a place for athletes of all abilities to find a place to participate. We have a “Little Mermaids/Mermen” program for pre-swimmer and younger children, a pre-competitive program for older children new to the sport, and a competitive program ranging from Provincial Level athletes to National Level Elite Programs, and a masters program for Parents who would like to try synchro. Within these programs training can range from 45 minutes once a week, all the way up to 5 days and 20 hours a week.
Our tier 6 and 7 athletes compete at a National level. This is an elite level program which involves a strong commitment. Athletes at this level train 4 to 5 times a week, from 14 to 20 hours a week.
Variety Village strives to have a well balanced program which can include strength and conditioning, water workouts, weights and exercise equipment, running the indoor track, gymnastics, dance, as well as a full compliment of synchro water training.
The National level program can include visiting International trainers, as well as referrals to specialists for nutritional support, sport psycology and an onsite pediatric physiotherapist.
National Level athletes compete 2 - 4 times within the Province, and 2 meets within Canada. Our National Team Program includes preparation for National Team Trials, and Team Ontario Trials.
